Description: Aida Bardissi received a Master’s candidate in Sociology at the London School of Economics in the Summer of 2021. As a current doctoral stuent at NYU, she is currently researching the genre of Egyptian realist film as an inquiry into the paradigmatic silencing of the ethnocultural minorities that constitute the farmer (falaḥ). Aida Bardissi was formerly the Program and Staff Assistant at the Middle East Initiative, at the Harvard Kennedy School. Prior to joining MEI, Aida has worked with various human rights organizations such as the ACLU, CODEPINK, and Boston University’s Forced Migration and Human Trafficking Initiative (FMHT). She has also administered English as Second Language courses at the ICRM (Islington Center for Refugees and Migrants), in London, U.K. Aida is an alumnus of Boston University where she studied International Affairs as an ISF Scholar, with foci in Cultural Anthropology and the MENA region.
