Description: Double majoring in Communications and Arabic, alongside the Interdepartmental Program in Film Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Marina Qutab graduated with her bachelor's in 2017. By fusing her passions for communication, media and culture, and film, she strives to creatively promote and build a conscious, sustainable world. She had the opportunity to drive positive change abroad in the Fall Semester of her senior year through the School of International Training (SIT) program, “Jordan: Modernization and Social Change.” Here, she took a journalist approach to answering her Independent Study Project research question of, “As Modernization in Jordan Poses Social and Environmental Issues, How Can Jordanians Adapt to Promote a Just and Thriving Planet?” As her research question denotes, she was not only dedicated to protecting the planet for future generations, she was committed to addressing issues in public policy.
