Description: Tooba Hussain grew up in New Jersey with five siblings. She attended Rutgers University–Camden where she double majored in Urban Studies and Political Science. She attended law school at Georgetown University where she focused her efforts on criminal justice and asylum work. She has interned with the UNHCR in Malaysia, the Federal Public Defender of D.C., the Arab-American Anti-Discrimination Committee, and in the District Court of D.C. She has also served as an Editor on the Georgetown Law Journal; as MLSA's Co-President; and as Co-Director of the 2021 NMLSC Conference. She was also a student attorney in the Appellate Courts Immersion Clinic where she worked on appellate cases in the Federal Courts of Appeal. Her primary career interests lie in criminal justice and immigration reform. In her free time, she enjoys reading fiction, drinking bubble tea, listening to poetry, and people watching (but not in a weird way)!
