    Description: Abdo Yousef is a Palestinian student of Near Eastern Studies at NYU’s Hagop Kevorkian Center, interested in the Palestinian diaspora across the Middle East. As a classically trained violinist, Abdo has leveraged his musical background to explore ethnomusicological themes in Algiers, Algeria, and Johannesburg, South Africa. Abdo graduated with a BA in Anthropology and Philosophy from Fordham University. His research interests include claims to authenticity in the diaspora, ethnomusicology, diaspora studies, Global South to Global South migration, Palestinian studies, and visual anthropology. Abdo is also interested in refugee resettlement with a focus on educational access.
