    Description: Nadia Fatima Amrani is an Economic and Political Development student at Columbia University's School of International Affairs. She served as the National Social Worker at the Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights, advocating for unaccompanied and separated children's rights. Previously, Nadia worked as a Senior Counselor at STEPS to End Family Violence’s Criminalized Survivors Program. While there, she provided counseling and defense-based advocacy to survivors of intimate partner violence and gender-based violence facing felony charges in New York City and, occasionally, immigration repercussions due to their charges. Nadia was one of the team recipients for the 2020 Advocates of the Year by the Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence due to her work at STEPS.
