    Bio: Hajer Al-Faham is a Ph.D. Candidate and National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. Hajer’s research focuses on exploring the relationships between politics and group identity, with an emphasis on citizenship, race and ethnicity, migration, and religion. Recently, the American Political Science Association’s Urban and Local Politics Section named Hajer the winner of the Byran Jackson Dissertation Research Award, which recognizes outstanding scholarship by a graduate student in the areas of race, ethnicity, and urban politics. In addition, Hajer was selected for the Emerging Scholars of Color Program, a joint collaboration of the Center for Latino Studies and the Center for Critical Race Studies.
