Description: Priom Ahmed is studied law at George Washington Law. She is interested in public interest law and critical race studies. Priom graduated from Columbia in 2014, majoring in Middle Eastern, South Asian and African Studies. While at Columbia, she led a mental health advocacy group for three years, pushing for campus policy reforms and peer-support initiatives. Off campus, she interned for the Council on American Relations, BRAC USA, and the Council on Foreign Relations. She has also conducted independent research in Bangladesh on garment factory workers’ rights and women’s access to healthcare. Prior to law school, Priom worked for New York City Council Member Garodnick’s Office for a year. She also worked for the American Muslim Health Professionals, leading their Affordable Care Act outreach and enrollment process in New York.
