Description: Nellie Ghosheh, a proud Palestinian, is from a small suburb on the outskirts of Chicago. She graduated from Wesleyan University in 2023 with a degree in Government and Psychology and a minor in Writing. While at Wesleyan, she founded the Competitive Club Badminton team. She will begin her first year as a law student at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri this fall. Nellie's lived experiences demonstrate her deep commitment to her community and a strong concern for the MENA and other marginalized communities. Her decision to pursue a career in the legal field is multifaceted. Primarily, she is motivated by the underrepresentation and lack of education about Muslims, which have resulted in unconstitutional laws. Nellie aims to practice law in the Chicagoland area to continue serving her community, now equipped with legal expertise. As a future lawyer, she intends to contribute to shaping laws that impact Muslim lives and participate in local initiatives aimed at uplifting minority communities.
