Description: Growing up in Los Angeles, Sabahat has been driven by a passion for Muslim representation in politics and policy. Her activism began after the Boston bombing, inspiring her to wear the hijab to represent Islam. Following a near-attack on her Islamic middle school, her activism solidified by sharing her experiences in a speech urging for unity at the mayor's inauguration. In high school, she developed an educational inclusivity plan for her district. Later, as a fellow on Karen Bass’s mayoral campaign, she co-created Youth4Bass, an initiative engaging young voters with unique events. She later transitioned to an administrative assistant role within the field and strategy team, contributing to the campaign’s success. Currently completing her degree in Political Science, minoring in Mathematics and Psychology at UC Davis, her commitment to the field has grown.
