Description: Suha Musa is a second year Masters candidate in the Global Journalism and International Relations Program at New York University. She is a 2022 graduate from the University of New Mexico with majors in International Studies and Political Science with a minor in History. Her senior capstone "One Refugee, Two Refugee, Good Refugee, Bad Refugee: How SWANA Media Representation Impacts Refugee Policy" in the West dissected how media subtleties have been used as a weapon of bias against Muslims in Western politics. As a dual Sudanese-American national, the project was born from a lifetime of experience consuming Western media and was awarded as a top 10 presentation at UNM’s Undergraduate Research Conference. As a reporter, her primary beats include the ongoing conflict in Sudan, African migration patterns, and minority resettlement efforts in the West. Her work has appeared in Foreign Policy Magazine as a featured contributor, The New Arab, Al-Jazeera, Semafor, and The Guardian.
