Description: Zafir Shaiq was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and currently attends UCLA, where he is studying economics. He serves as the President of the Muslim Student Association at UCLA, and is a former director of the Incarcerated Youth Tutorial Project. Zafir plans on attending law school and pursuing a career in prison reform. UPDATE 2018: Zafir studied law at the University of California Hastings College of the Law and works currently at the Alameda County Public Defender as an Associate Deputy Public Defender.
