Description: Afraz Khan is a community organizer, faith leader and performance artist focused on racial justice and the intersection of activism and social enterprise. He has previously served as a Paralegal and Outreach Coordinator at ACLU National, conducting advocacy and research in their Racial Justice Program. As a trained faith leader serving dozens of Muslim communities for the past seven years, he has spoken at over 100 events, facilitating civic engagement trainings and racial justice discussions focusing on the relationship between anti-Blackness, white supremacy, and anti-Muslim racism. Afraz was also previously the Executive Director of Muslim Wedding Service, a nationwide social enterprise comprising 23 employees which provides wedding officiant services to a variety of interracial and interfaith couples. In exploration of social issues and faith, Afraz has harnessed spoken word and rap to produce 25 unique pieces of performance art that have collectively garnered 25,000 streams across all platforms.
