    Description: Sumayyah Khan, a proud Pakistani-American from Houston, graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelors degree in Communications and a minor in Global Engagement and Research. Passionate about human rights advocacy and conflict resolution, particularly in regions facing humanitarian crises, she has gained hands-on experience through internships with the U.S. Department of State and on Capitol Hill. Sumayyah has also presented her research on climigrations impact on vulnerable populations at the Climate Change and Health International Conference in Amman, Jordan while working with refugees at the Zataari Refugee Camp. Now applying for a master's degree in International Affairs and Public Policy, as well as pursuing law school, Sumayyah aspires to advocate for marginalized communities and advance human rights worldwide. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, she enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and photography.
