Description: Amina Basharat is a first-generation Pakistani-American college graduate from Cleveland Ohio. She completed her Dual Degree at The Ohio State University and obtained a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. International Relations & Diplomacy with a minor in Philosophy. She served as the President of one of the nation’s largest Muslim Students’ Association and worked with university departments to advocate for students on campus in efforts to speak about necessary religious and faith-based accommodations. She took a gap year post-graduation before enrolling in the Moritz College of Law at Ohio State in 2023. Through her internships with Ohio Women’s Alliance and the Council on American-Islamic Relations, she has developed a deep passion for civil liberties, human rights, and women’s rights. She hopes to pursue a career that will allow her to advocate for marginalized and oppressed communities in order to increase their representation across local, state, and federal governments.
