    Bio: Tahreem Alam, 22, is from Blacksburg, Virginia, and is currently obtaining an M.A. in Middle East Studies from the George Washington University. She is also a 2021 alumna of Virginia Tech and majored in multimedia journalism, international relations, and Arabic, with minors in women’s and gender studies and Middle East studies. Throughout Tahreem’s academic and professional experience, she wrote for several newspapers as a news reporter, worked in administrative roles, and advocated for greater Muslim representation at her universities and town alongside college and local organizations. Her interdisciplinary education and experience fueled Tahreem’s desire to work in public policy at the national level.
