Description: I am an Assistant Professor in the departments of Political Science and International and Global Studies at Portland State University. In June 2019 I received my Ph.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). My research interests include local politics, party systems, and elections in Africa. I have published articles in the journals Government & Opposition, Global Studies Quarterly, and Comparative Strategy. In the 2021-2022 academic year, I am a recipient of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) American Post-Doctoral Fellowship. My research has been supported by the American Political Science Association (APSA) Centennial Center Research Grant, the Eugene V. Cota Robles Pre-Doctoral Fellowship, multiple Summer Research Fellowships and funding for fieldwork from the International Institute at UCLA.
