Description: Seelai Karzai attended Harvard Divinity School, where her master's studies focused on women, gender, sexuality, and Islamic studies. She earned her BA in English Literature and Classics from Hunter College in New York City, where she discovered her passion for community organizing. After graduating from college, Seelai worked at a publishing house, and later with the Council on American Islamic Relations and the War Resisters League. Seelai has since continued her human rights work and has engaged the arts in the process, having completed an MFA in poetry from the University of Oregon in 2021.
