Description: As a high school teacher at a small, Project-Based Learning and STEM-certified magnet school in Columbus, Indiana, Fariha also worked to establish anti-biased and anti-racist initiatives throughout the district. This work led her to pursue a Masters in Public Policy in Education Policy from Vanderbilt University's Peabody College, graduating in 2023. During her first year at Vanderbilt, she worked with the American Muslim Advisory Council to support the Muslim community in Tennessee engage with the 2022 legislative session and election season. She also worked with the Education Trust of Tennessee as a P-12 Policy Fellow, where she analyzed education data and research related to P-12 student achievement, attainment, and opportunities with a focus on students and teachers of color to draft data-driven policy analyses to advance policy positions and inform policymaking.
