Seelai currently works at Harvard University, supporting research and fellowships for marginalized students, as well as advocating for diversity in higher education.
Bio: Seelai Karzai attends Harvard Divinity School, where she is focused on women, gender, sexuality, and Islamic studies. She earned her BA in English Literature and Classics from Hunter College in New York City, where she discovered her passion for community organizing. After graduating from college, Seelai worked at a publishing house, and later with the Council on American Islamic Relations and the War Resisters League. Her goal is to earn a PhD in women and gender studies and to continue writing about the U.S. military’s occupations abroad, the history of Afghanistan and of the Afghan diaspora in America.
