Bio
Tasnim Motala is a rising third year at Yale Law School. She graduated from Yale College with distinctions in the Political Science and Ethnicity, Race, and Migration majors. She also holds a Masters degree in Social Sciences from the University of Cape Town. Tasnim is interested in the intersection between criminal defense and national security. She has represented detainees in Bagram and Guantanamo, inmates on death row, defendants charged for terror-related crimes, and other victims of torture. She is broadly interested in international law and international human rights. She is an Executive Editor of the Yale Journal of International Law and a student director of the Lowenstein Clinic for International Human Rights.
