Sifat Reazi is a PhD student in the Department of Planning, Policy and Design at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). At this time her research interest lies where human and environmental security challenges, reconciliation and urban planning intersect.
During her time as a Master’s student in the Public Policy program at UCI, Sifat also served as the elected External Vice President of the Associated Graduate Students (AGS) representing over 3000 graduate students. In this role she conducted policy research, served on the board of the UC Student Association, and lobbied for students at the local and state level.
As a Master’s student she conducted independent research on transitional justice and reconciliation within the Bangladeshi diaspora community in Los Angeles.
After graduating with a B.A. in Global Studies from the University of California Santa Barbara, Sifat spent time working for nonprofits and international NGO’s where her interests in the third sector and public policy formalized. She hopes to continue this work through grad school. Sifat was born in Bangladesh and raised in Southern California.
