Sajdah Bey is a rising junior at Barnard College of Columbia University where she is pursuing a combined major in political science and human rights. Sajdah is deeply passionate about issues surrounding equity and justice and is dedicated to protecting the rights of the most marginalized within our society. In the past, Sajdah has worked as a legal intake intern at the ACLU-PA and as an immigration intern at the Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition.
Sajdah is an active member of her campus community, acting as a member of the MSA, serving as co-president of the Columbia University Interfaith Coalition, and working as a Writing Fellow in the Barnard writing center.
This summer, Sajdah held an internship in Judge LaShann DeArcy Hall’s chambers in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York – an experience which has further cultivated her interest in legal work. Following her graduation in 2021, Sajdah hopes to attend law school and pursue a career as an international human rights attorney.
