Saeb Ahsan is interested in exploring the development of urban diplomacy. He is currently an Open Cities Fellow at the Sunlight Foundation working to identify best practices related to open data and city-to-city collaboration. Saeb has been a Fellow at the Center for Healthcare Innovation and has consulted for Accenture and Allscripts, where he focused on the health and human service sectors. Saeb started his career in local government through an internship and advisory council role for the City of Chicago’s Commission on Human Relations.
Saeb graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a BSc in Finance. As an undergrad, Saeb served as the President of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization and was among the top five national finalists for Entrepreneur Magazine’s “College Entrepreneur of the Year” award. He then studied Turkish entrepreneurship and corporate citizenship at Koç University in Istanbul as a Fulbright Fellow. Saeb is an inaugural Fellow with the new Pearson Institute for the Study and Resolution of Global Conflicts and an MPP Candidate at the University of Chicago’s Harris Public Policy. He is an Executive Editor for the Chicago Policy Review, managing the International, Law and Politics, and Energy and Environment sections. Saeb has worked in capacity-building for Muslim Democrats, Muslims for Liberty, and the Chicago Steering Committee for the Muslim Public Affairs Council.
