Bio
Rania Mustafa is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree at New York University. She is double majoring in Journalism, with a concentration in Print, and Applied Psychology. She graduated from Al-Ghazaly High School in 2010 – where she served as editor and chief of her high school newspaper two years in a row. She has interned in the United Nation Radio Department and has reported on events for the International Association of Applied Psychology. She has also been recently appointed the President of Islamic Student’s Association at NYU. She also spends most of her weekends in Islamic Center of Passaic County where she is a Saturday and Sunday school teacher. Along with a co-founder and active member of the ICPC Girls Youth Committee. She’s part of the Inspiring American Muslim Youth Convention planning committee. In addition she has helped found and launch the Think Tank, a subcommittee to the IAMY convention, in which the daily issues of American Muslims are explored, researched, and studied in hopes of providing services to aid the community. She, as well, is taking classes in Islamic Fiqh in partnership with the American Islamic University.. She aspires to be a journalist and a therapist simultaneously combating the issues of the Muslim community internally, by working on removing the taboo of mental health, and externally, by portraying the real images of Muslims and Islam.
