Omama Altaleb is a journalist pursuing her M.A. in Interactive Journalism at American University. She graduated from George Mason University with a B.A. in Communication in 2015.
She is the founder and editor-in-chief of the American-Muslim women’s online-only lifestyle magazine <a href=”http://layaliwebzine.com/”>Layali Webzine</a>. She works as a digital editor and writer for WTOP News & Radio in Washington, D.C. In 2014, she interned at <a href=”http://gannett.com/”>Gannett</a> and <a href=”http://usat.com/”>USA Today</a> in McLean, Va and continued as a contributing writer for <a href=”http://college.usatoday.com/”>USA Today College</a>. In 2012, Omama was recognized by the <a href=”http://anwc.squarespace.com/storage/ANWC_NewsRelease_Scholarships2012.pdf”>American News Women’s Club</a> as an aspiring female journalist. Omama is an active community member with a deep passion for writing, photography, news, fitness and travel.
