Nesima Aberra was a strategic communicator for social good. She completed her undergraduate degrees in journalism and global studies at Arizona State University, where she balanced writing for various publications and working with nonprofits in the fields of human rights, economic empowerment, women’s empowerment and refugee resettlement. After graduating, she was a fellow in the New Sector Alliance program in San Francisco, working for two years at a social enterprise to build up their marketing, communications and fundraising capacity.
At her core, Nesima is a creative writer and believes strongly in diversity in media and the arts. She is a featured artist in the Home Away from Home Project, a board member of the Muslim Writers Collective, and alumna of the Voices of Our Nation Arts Foundation writers’ workshop. Her goal is to merge her interests in social justice and writing by creating quality media that empowers, educates, and entertains.
