Lamiya Khandaker is currently a second year Master of Theological Studies (MTS) degree candidate at Harvard Divinity School with a focus on Islamic theology. She graduated with her Bachelors degree from Connecticut College in Political Science and Global Islamic Studies, and studied abroad at SOAS, University of London with a focus on Religion and Politics. Lamiya is in the midst of Advanced Arabic training, with a background in Elementary French and Native Bengali. She is involved with human rights activism, religious and spiritual life at Harvard, and her interests lie in intra-faith Muslim community-building. She hopes to later pursue a PhD degree on diversity within intellectual Islamic thought to work on bridging differences within Islam’s rich traditions.
