Bio
Laila Ikram is a rising second year law student at Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. Laila previously earned a Summa Cum Laude Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies with a focus on gender and religion from Arizona State. During undergrad, Laila had the opportunity to learn about employment and labor law as an intern at the Phoenix Office of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. This summer, Laila completed an internship with the Honorable Judge Donn Kessler at the Arizona Court of Appeals, through which she was able to get an inside look at how judicial opinions are researched, debated, and composed.
Outside of law school, Laila volunteers with the Homeless Legal Assistance Program, and the Advocacy Program Against Domestic Violence Hotline. She is also very involved with several local and national Muslim organizations including her local MSA, where she has been President, and MPAC, where she has been a government affairs young delegate. Upon graduation, Laila hopes to continue working for the American and Muslim communities by ensuring access to justice through her position as a lawyer. Laila is grateful to Islamic Scholarship Fund’s generous donors for allowing her the opportunity to pursue her dreams. Jazakumullahu Khairan!
