Fahad is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the University of Chicago. His research agenda centers broadly on the politics of colonialism, state-building, and nationalism, and his dissertation investigates the ways in which colonial administrators’ ideological commitments around class shaped state and society institutions in British India between 1790 and 1870.
Before joining the University of Chicago in 2014, Fahad received his BA in Political Science from the University of Michigan in 2011, and spent the intervening years teaching mathematics at a public school in Houston, TX through Teach For America.
