Bio
Aisha Yaqoob is a rising second year graduate student at the University of Georgia, pursuing her Masters of Public Administration & Policy. She is interested in public policy on the local and state level.
Aisha graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia in December 2013 with a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in Public Relations, as well as a certificate in Disability Studies. During her undergrad years, she was involved in various student organizations and served as president of her local MSA.
After finishing her undergraduate degree, she worked briefly with students with disabilities as well as various Muslim, and non-Muslim nonprofits in the Atlanta area. This summer, she interned on Capitol Hill for a member of Congress through the MPAC Congressional Leadership Development Program.
Her community involvement extends beyond the Muslim organizations, as she currently serves an advisory capacity on her local government’s planning projects. In addition, she sits on the alumni advisory board for her high school Alma Mater’s business & marketing education program.
Fun fact: Aisha spent a summer in Kenya on a volunteer mission trip where she took donated items and money to a few different, well deserving social service organizations aimed at providing care for orphans and children with disabilities.
