Aia Hawari is an undergraduate student pursuing a B.A. in Literature/Writing with a minor in Literatures of English at University of California, San Diego. Aia is an active member in the Muslim community, as she has held multiple leadership positions in several MSAs that she was previously and is currently a part of. Aia is a founder of Junior College MSA (JCMSA), an organization made to bridge and strengthen all community college MSAs of California, and took on the position of Corresponding Secretary for the organization. Aia has collaborated with other MSA members to plan humanitarian, religious, social, and professional events for JCMSA. Aia also had the opportunity of being editor for SalaamCal Newspaper, assisting in the publication process for the newspaper. While being a full-time student and an active member in her community, Aia is currently working at her campus’s International Center as an administrative assistant. A blog writer for Huffington Post, Aia has published one article so far and plans to be publishing many more! Upon graduation from UCSD, Aia aspires to reach her goal of earning a graduate degree, in pursuit of being an editor, while maintaining an active role in the Muslim community. In order to build bridges and amplifying the true radiance of Islam and Muslims in the United States, Aia’s goal is to develop and strengthen the Muslim American voice and change the world’s false view of Muslims one article at a time.
