Bio
Abid Hossain is currently a first-year law student at New York University School of Law. He graduated summa cum laude from Binghamton University in 2010 with a B.A. in Economics and in Philosophy, Politics and Law. During his undergraduate career, he was actively involved in the leadership of his university’s Muslim Student Association (MSA) and served as a Student Assembly representative. During the summers of 2009 and 2010, Abid interned at the New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), striving to defend the rights of the Muslim-American community and to promote an accurate representation of Islam. He hopes to use his law degree to continue to empower and defend Muslim-Americans, be it through pro bono services or working for a civil rights organization such as CAIR. After substantial work in the non-profit sector, he also hopes to one day enter the realm of politics and give a stronger voice to his community.
