Omama Altaleb is a journalist pursuing her M.A. in Interactive Journalism at American University. She graduated from George Mason University with a B.A. in Communication in 2015.

She is the founder and editor-in-chief of the American-Muslim women’s online-only lifestyle magazine Layali Webzine. She works as a digital editor and writer for WTOP News & Radio in Washington, D.C. In 2014, she interned at Gannett and USA Today in McLean, Va and continued as a contributing writer for USA Today College.  In 2012, Omama was recognized by the American News Women’s Club as an aspiring female journalist. Omama is an active community member with a deep passion for writing, photography, news, fitness and travel.
