Bio: Jesan is a senior at Yale University where he is double majoring in Political Science and South Asian Studies with a focus on comparative constitutional law. He has recently finished interning at the Housing Law Clinic of the WilmerHale Legal Services Center of Harvard Law School. Jesan is passionate about human rights, social justice, housing issues, international law and constitutionalism. At Yale, Jesan is the President of the Yale Pre-Law Society, Founder and President of the Yale Bangladeshi Students Association, President of Yale Amnesty International, Founder and Editor-In-Chief of the Yale Undergraduate Journal of South Asian Studies, Editor of the Yale Journal of Political Thought and is the Team Captain of Yale Rangeela, a Bollywood dance team.

Jesan has been the recipient of various awards, including the Nathan Hale Associates Scholarship, the Calhoun College Class of 1959 Award, the Yale Creative and Performing Arts Award, South Asian Studies Rustgi Travel Research Grant, Paul K. Richter and Evalyn E. Cook Richter Memorial Fund Fellowship as well as becoming the Outstanding Young Man of Phoenix. He has further been awarded the Yale Creative and Performing Arts Award for his endeavors in film, regarding his undergraduate production of “Bulldogs Breakout in Bollywood.”

Outside of Yale, Jesan has interned for United States Senator John McCain, where he worked on issues regarding the Iran Nuclear Deal, the Syrian refugee crisis, the post-2008 foreclosure housing crisis and immigration. He has additionally interned at the Bangladesh Parliament as well as the Supreme Court of
Bangladesh. Furthermore, he is currently working with Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST) on comparative constitutional law publications and analysis, assisting Rohingya refugee communities from the Rakhine State of Myanmar and working towards establishing an international human rights labor framework.
