ISF supports Islamic organizations and mosques by planning and managing joint scholarships. ISF is honored to host the ISF-SBIA Scholarship of the South Bay Islamic Association (SBIA). The ISF-SBIA Scholarship program is only open to members and individuals affiliated with the SBIA.
Description and Eligibility:
ISF accepts online applications once a year starting in December for a period of four months.
Each Eligible Applicant Must Be:
- Active member of the SBIA;
- Attending an accredited university in the U.S.;
- Majoring in an ISF supported field of study;
- Maintaining a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average;
- A Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.;
- An undergraduate (junior/senior) or of graduate standing
ISF’s Selection Committee which is composed of university professors, non-profit organization leaders and community members with years of experience in the academic and non-profit world review and score applications from April to June. Applicant finalists with the highest score are scheduled for web-based video interviews during the month of June. Final selections are made and all applicants are notified in July.
Scholarships ranging from $2000-$5,000 will be awarded in two installments in July and January. The amount of each scholarship will be determined based on ISF’s funding and applicants’ qualifications. With certain exceptions, ISF’s policy is to send checks directly to an applicant’s university. Exceptions can be made if the awards affect the applicant’s financial status.
