Bio: Fahad Sajid is a Political Science PhD student at the University of Chicago. His research interests include colonial governance, the politics of decolonization, post-colonial state-building, bureaucratic autonomy and capacity, and core-periphery relations, among other topics in Comparative Politics. At the end of summer 2016, after his final set of qualifying exams, he will spend five weeks in Lahore, Pakistan carrying out pre-dissertation research.
Before starting graduate school in 2014, Fahad received his BA in Political Science from the University of Michigan, and went on to teach middle school math in Houston, TX through Teach For America. In his spare time, he enjoys playing squash and browsing through independent bookstores.
